Holidaze Stained Glass Studio and Gallery is owned and operated by Nancy Kay Chase. Nancy was just ten years old when she participated in her first art show.
Over the years she worked mainly in acrylics and pen & ink, but in 1976 began working in glass and has never changed media since. In 1985 Nancy opened her own studio in historic Chepachet, Rhode Island,
a charming village in the Town of Glocester boasting numerous antique stores, fine restaurants, and a thriving business community for locals and tourists. She was soon teaching stained glass classes and adding to her
gallery of beautiful creations. As Nancy's reputation for exquisite stained glass art grew, she began doing custom work for both private and business clients. Her award
winning work was soon displayed nationally and internationally in restaurants, churches, businesses, residences, and major corporate offices.
Below is a sampling of Nancy's personal pieces at her residence ...
Nancy is very community conscious and stays quite active in the business affairs of Glocester. She has served as Vice President of the Glocester Business Association and often takes part in coordinating GBA and other
community events, including the Glocester's annual Candlelight Shopping & Festival of Lights event. She has donated her work to PBS auctions and for years has designed the awards for the town's annual Fourth of July
"Ancients and Horribles" Parade. In 1997 she was awarded the Glocester Business Association's Joan Scorpio Award in recognition of her outstanding efforts on behalf of the community.
Nancy prefers country life and resides in nearby Connecticut, just minutes from her studio in Chepachet Village. Her home, which she designed and built herself, is situated alongside a rambling river in the woods – a
fine place for inspiration. Rolling river, peace to me; To all it's not the same. Such personal a word as peace Couldn't know a single name. I journeyed all my life to find The "me" before me now.
Rolling river by my door Flows through my veins somehow. — Nancy Kay Chase, 1985 |
